Ray Longo, trainer of Merab Dvalishvili and Aljamain Sterling, criticized Jiri Prochazka's post-fight claim that he showed mercy to Carlos Ulberg, calling it a mental issue in MMA and stating that Prochazka simply made a critical mistake. Carlos Ulberg also dismissed the mercy narrative, saying Prochazka was driven by fear and indecision rather than compassion, and accused him of playing to the audience. Ulberg stated that Prochazka did not approach him after the fight and suggested Prochazka is trying to manufacture an excuse for a rematch. Ulberg believes Prochazka will not get a rematch and predicted that Magomed Ankalaev will defeat him. There are also reports of tension at City Kickboxing gym between Ulberg and Israel Adesanya, as the two have not been seen together recently and have not supported each other's recent performances.
