Ray Longo, trainer of Merab Dvalishvili and Aljamain Sterling, has harshly criticized Jiri Prochazka's post-fight explanation about showing mercy. Longo stated that the sport needs to address mental health issues in MMA, referencing Prochazka's unconventional training methods including praying to Olympus, standing on his head, and drinking his own urine. Longo dismissed Prochazka's 'mercy' claim, saying the fighter simply made a serious mistake and was completely lost, adding that mercy had nothing to do with it. He suggested Prochazka's excuse was designed to secure a rematch. Carlos Ulberg also weighed in, saying Prochazka was held back by fear, not mercy, and accused him of playing to the audience rather than being genuine. Ulberg noted Prochazka didn't approach him after the fight and believes everything Prochazka does is calculated for public reaction.
