Trainer Ray Longo, who coaches Merab Dvalishvili and Aljamain Sterling, has criticized Jiri Prochazka's post-fight explanation following his loss to Carlos Ulberg. Longo referenced Prochazka's unconventional training methods including standing on his head and drinking his own urine, then dismissed Prochazka's claim that he showed mercy during the fight. According to Longo, Prochazka simply made a major mistake rather than choosing to show compassion. Carlos Ulberg also weighed in, stating that Prochazka was motivated by fear rather than mercy and accused him of playing to the audience. Ulberg noted that Prochazka didn't approach him after the fight and believes everything Prochazka does is designed for public reaction.
