Russians Kovalenko and Petrov compete at Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA event

Jorge Masvidal's Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA promotion held an event featuring bareknuckle MMA bouts. Russian fighters Nikolai Kovalenko (11-2) and Denis Petrov (1-1) competed on the card. Kovalenko dominated early but fatigued severely and lost by disqualification, while Petrov knocked out his opponent after nearly being finished himself. Former UFC fighters Anthony Smith, Chase Sherman, Luis Peña, and Thiago Santos also competed, with Smith defeating Sherman, Peña submitting his opponent after landing a groin strike, and Santos stopping his opponent. Ray Cooper III also appeared and secured the event's only highlight-reel knockout.
