Paulo Costa protests lack of bonus after finishing undefeated Russian opponent

Paulo Costa expressed frustration after UFC officials awarded Josh Howitt dual bonuses while Costa received nothing despite finishing his undefeated Russian opponent. Costa argued that his performance against a 16-0 fighter who had been defeating everyone deserved recognition, especially since he finished the fight early after delivering hard strikes for three rounds. He acknowledged Howitt's fight with Curtis Blaydes was excellent, possibly one of the best heavyweight fights he had seen, but believed his own stoppage victory was more deserving of a performance bonus. Costa revealed he was so upset that he contacted Dana White and Hunter Campbell directly, expressing his belief that the decision was unfair and hoping they would reconsider. He stated the situation made him feel terrible and that he trusted UFC leadership would take care of him and correct what he believes was a mistake.
