Paulo Costa has expressed strong dissatisfaction with the UFC's bonus decision following the recent event. Costa is upset that Josh Hewitt received a double bonus for his fight with Curtis Blaydes, while Costa received no bonus despite finishing his opponent. Costa argued that he deserved the Performance of the Night bonus for stopping his undefeated Russian opponent (16-0) early after dominating him for three rounds. He characterized Hewitt's heavyweight bout as excellent but questioned why it merited two bonuses while his finish was overlooked. Costa revealed he was so frustrated that he contacted Dana White and Hunter Campbell directly, describing feeling the "worst feelings" and wanting to "smash everything." He expressed hope that White and Campbell will reconsider what he believes was a mistake in the bonus allocation.
