Mark Vologdin is in training camp ahead of his UFC debut against veteran John Castaneda. The 25-year-old Russian from Petrozavodsk, Republic of Karelia, earned his contract after an exciting losing effort on Dana White's Contender Series in October, where his performance impressed fans and earned a standing ovation from Dana White despite the decision loss. Vologdin holds a professional record of 12-4-1 with six knockouts and four submissions, and is a master of sport in Kyokushin karate. His opponent Castaneda carries a 4-4 UFC record and last fought exactly one year ago, losing a split decision to Chris Gutierrez.
