Islam Makhachev has expressed frustration with what he calls fabricated stories coming from Ilia Topuria's camp regarding their potential fight. The lightweight champion claims he accepted a fight at the White House event, but the next day was told that Topuria requested an unrealistic sum of money. According to Makhachev, the UFC rejected the request and Topuria withdrew from the bout. The Russian fighter stated that even Topuria's manager confirmed this version of events. Makhachev called on Topuria to stop talking, accusing him of telling a different story in every new interview and asserting that Topuria knows he pulled out of the fight.
