Islam Makhachev has publicly stated he is tired of what he calls fabricated stories from Ilia Topuria's team regarding the cancelled White House fight. According to Makhachev, he accepted the fight when the UFC called him, but the next day was told Topuria requested an unrealistic sum of money. The UFC rejected that financial demand, and Topuria withdrew from the bout, Makhachev claims. He says even Topuria's manager confirmed this version of events. Makhachev urged Topuria to stop talking, accusing him of telling a different story in each new interview and knowing that he was the one who pulled out.
