Topuria reveals White House fight with Makhachev was hours from announcement

Ilia Topuria disclosed that his fight against Islam Makhachev at the White House was on the verge of being officially announced before falling through. According to Topuria, he knew just hours before the card announcement that he would be fighting Makhachev and that the bout would be revealed. However, he received a call informing him that Islam had suffered an injury and he would instead face Max Holloway. Topuria went to bed expecting to fight Makhachev but woke up to numerous calls about the change. Despite the setback, Topuria stated he is not disappointed and believes the fight should happen eventually.
