Joël Álvarez trains with Benoît Saint-Denis ahead of Amosov fight

Lightweight fighters Joël Álvarez and Benoît Saint-Denis have begun a joint training camp in Bayonne, France, under coach Nicolas Ott. The collaboration comes a year after the two were scheduled to fight each other in a bout that never materialized. Álvarez is preparing to face Yaroslav Amosov at UFC 328 on May 9, while Saint-Denis does not yet have an announced opponent. According to Álvarez, Saint-Denis reached out to arrange the training partnership, and the Spanish fighter mentioned that Saint-Denis may be preparing for an opponent with a similar style to his own. The training partnership represents a shift from potential opponents to training allies.
