Topuria reveals fight with Makhachev was hours from announcement before injury

Ilia Topuria disclosed that his fight against Islam Makhachev at the White House event was just hours away from being officially announced before it fell through. Topuria stated he knew he would fight Makhachev and expected the announcement to be made with the rest of the card. However, he received a call saying Makhachev sustained an injury and he would instead fight Max Holloway. Topuria went to bed thinking he would face Makhachev but woke up to numerous calls informing him of the change. He expressed that he is not disappointed and believes the fight should happen eventually.
