Topuria says he learned hours before announcement he'd fight Makhachev at White House

Ilia Topuria revealed he was informed just hours before the White House card announcement that he would fight Islam Makhachev. Topuria went to sleep believing the fight was set to be officially announced. He was then woken up by numerous phone calls informing him that Makhachev had suffered an injury and he would instead fight Justin Gaethje. Topuria stated he is not disappointed the Makhachev fight fell through. He expressed belief that the fight should happen eventually.
