Curtis Blaydes has stated that he respects Josh Hokit as a fighter despite disagreeing with his behavior and trash talk before their bout. Blaydes explained it would be insincere and hypocritical to claim otherwise after their fight. While he doesn't appreciate Hokit's personality or promotional tactics outside the cage, Blaydes acknowledged he must respect him as an opponent inside the Octagon. The heavyweight contender emphasized that when facing someone with gloves on, respect is warranted regardless of personal feelings about their character.
