Ilia Topuria says Islam Makhachev fight was hours from announcement before injury

Ilia Topuria revealed that he was hours away from having his fight with Islam Makhachev officially announced for the White House event before it fell through. Topuria stated that a couple of hours before the full card announcement, he knew he would be fighting Makhachev and that the bout would be announced. However, he then received a call informing him that Islam had sustained an injury and that he would instead fight Michael Chandler. Topuria went to bed knowing he was fighting Islam, but woke up to numerous phone calls about the change. Despite the setback, Topuria expressed that he is not disappointed and believes the fight should happen eventually.
