UFC light heavyweight contender Carlos Ulberg has suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), according to his manager Ash Belcastro. Belcastro confirmed that Ulberg's surgery went "very well" and that the fighter is focused on returning as quickly as possible. However, the recovery timeline for an ACL tear typically extends up to 12 months, meaning Ulberg may not compete again until late 2026 at the earliest. The injury raises questions about whether the UFC should introduce an interim title in the light heavyweight division during his absence. Ulberg was recently competing at a high level in the division before sustaining this significant injury.
