ACA president Magomed Bubulatov has made candid admissions about performance-enhancing drug use within the promotion. He stated that more fighters use banned substances than compete clean, and noted that fighters accepting bouts on short notice are typically clean because they haven't had time to apply any substances. Bubulatov revealed that ACA gave fighters six months to clear their systems and allowed certain therapeutic medications. The league has data on which fighters use more or fewer banned substances, with fighters on short notice being the cleanest tested. He acknowledged that drug testing is expensive and suggested Russian promotions should unite to address the issue, though he considers this unlikely. Bubulatov is considering one-year suspensions for violators but hasn't finalized a policy.
