ACA president Magomed Bubulatov made candid admissions about performance-enhancing drug use in the promotion during an interview. He stated that more fighters use banned substances than compete clean. Bubulatov noted that fighters accepting bouts on short notice tend to be clean, implying they haven't had time to use PEDs. The promotion implemented a six-month grace period for fighters to clear banned substances and allowed certain therapeutic drugs. ACA has been testing fighters and tracking who uses prohibited substances, but Bubulatov acknowledged the league hasn't solved the problem. He cited financial constraints, noting that comprehensive drug testing is expensive and would require cooperation across all Russian MMA promotions, which he considers unlikely.
