This was Kulshin's sixth fight in LFA over three years, marking his sixth consecutive victory in the promotion. His previous four LFA wins came by decision, with one knockout in his LFA debut. The 26-year-old from North Ossetia, who has lived in the USA for four years and trains at Kill Cliff gym, called out the UFC in his post-fight interview, stating he is ready to fight on short notice at any time. Melo's record dropped to 15-9-1 with the loss.
