ACA president Magomed Bibulatov candidly discussed the promotion's doping control efforts in an interview. He revealed that more fighters use performance-enhancing drugs than compete clean, and that fighters taking bouts on short notice are usually clean because they haven't had time to apply anything. Bibulatov explained that ACA gave fighters six months to clear their systems and allowed some therapeutic substances, then began testing. While they've identified who uses banned substances, the league is still determining how to handle violators, with one-year suspensions being considered. He noted that comprehensive drug testing is expensive and would require cooperation among all Russian promotions, which he believes is unlikely to happen. The league has internal data on which fighters use more or fewer banned substances.
