Gilbert Burns revealed he had not initially planned to retire after his recent fight but was prepared for that possibility. He stated that if he cannot perform at his full capability again, he is ready to walk away because he refuses to fight just for a paycheck. Burns announced his intention to become an MMA manager, believing he can excel in that role due to his knowledge of career building. He also plans to work with athletes in jiu-jitsu and will soon open a gym in South Florida with close friend Wagner Rocha. Burns emphasized the gym's mission will be about changing children's futures, not merely teaching martial arts.
