Mark Vologdin addressed questions about his defensive approach in the third round of his UFC debut. When asked why he kept his hands very low and absorbed many strikes despite his corner's instructions, Vologdin explained he was fighting on instinct. He acknowledged thinking to himself that his opponent wouldn't drop him even with his guard down, admitting this was foolish. Vologdin stated he chose this path himself and does not care about criticism regarding technique or leaving his health in the cage, emphasizing that he simply enjoyed the experience.
