Fight manager Azamat Bostanov shared detailed memories of Khabib Nurmagomedov's UFC 223 title win in Brooklyn eight years ago. Bostanov recalled interviewing Artem Lobov after the bus incident and initially being told by Ali Abdelaziz to stay away from Khabib's team, but Khabib personally intervened saying Bostanov was their guy just doing his job. Bostanov described how 20-30 Dagestanis gathered at the hotel ready to protect Khabib from potential Conor McGregor provocations. He also revealed that Zabit Magomedsharipov broke two fingers during his warmup but didn't tell anyone so he could still compete. After the event, despite being exhausted, Khabib took time to photograph with everyone, thank them, and speak with numerous people calling via video. Bostanov emphasized that even after multiple title defenses, Khabib remained the same approachable, kind person who would always make time for conversation.
