Former and future UFC fighters Gable Steveson and Alexander Romanov will compete in a professional freestyle wrestling match at RAF09 on May 30. Steveson holds a 3-0 MMA record, while Romanov has a 21-4 overall record and went 7-3 during his UFC tenure. The bout represents an interesting crossover between MMA and wrestling for both athletes. Romanov is currently not on the UFC roster despite his recent stint with the promotion. Steveson, an Olympic gold medalist wrestler, has been transitioning between wrestling and MMA throughout his career. The matchup will provide a wrestling-focused showcase for both fighters outside the traditional MMA context.
