Azamat Bostanov, now a fighter manager, shared memories of Khabib Nurmagomedov's UFC 223 title victory in Brooklyn eight years ago. Bostanov had interviewed Artem Lobov after the infamous confrontation with Khabib, which angered manager Ali Abdelaziz who told Bostanov not to approach their team. However, Khabib put his arm around Bostanov and told Abdelaziz 'This is our guy, he's just doing his job.' Bostanov recalled 20-30 Dagestanis gathering at the hotel ready to prevent Conor McGregor's team from provoking Khabib. After the victory, Khabib's hotel floor was packed with people, many he didn't know, seeking photos and video calls. Despite exhaustion, Khabib gave everyone attention, draped his belt over Bostanov's shoulder for a photo, and thanked the media for their work. Years later, Khabib still remained approachable and kind, once stopping his van to greet Bostanov on the street and offer him a ride.
