Fight manager Azamat Bostanov recounted his experience covering Khabib Nurmagomedov's lightweight title victory at UFC 223 in Brooklyn eight years ago. Despite manager Ali Abdelaziz initially telling Bostanov not to approach the team after he interviewed Artem Lobov following the bus incident, Khabib welcomed him and said he was just doing his job. Bostanov described a tense atmosphere with 20-30 Dagestanis gathering at the hotel in case Conor McGregor's team arrived. After the event, Khabib's hotel floor was packed with people, many of whom he didn't know, but he took time to greet everyone and facilitate video calls with their friends and family. Zabит Magomedsharipov fought on the same card after breaking two fingers during his warm-up but didn't report it to avoid being pulled from the bout. Years later, Khabib spotted Bostanov on the street and offered him a ride, demonstrating his continued down-to-earth nature despite his championship success.
