Azamat Bostanov, now a fighter manager, shared memories from UFC 223 in Brooklyn eight years ago when Khabib Nurmagomedov won the lightweight title. Bostanov recalled interviewing Artem Lobov after the famous confrontation with Khabib, which angered manager Ali Abdelaziz, but Khabib reassured him saying "this is our guy, he's just doing his job." He remembered 20-30 Dagestanis gathering at the hotel entrance ready to prevent any provocations from Conor McGregor's team. After the event, despite being exhausted, Khabib posed for photos with fans, draped his championship belt over Bostanov's shoulder, and patiently talked to numerous people via video calls in his hotel room. Bostanov noted that even years later as champion, Khabib remained the same approachable, smiling person who always made time for brief conversations, once even offering him a ride near Krasnopresnenskaya station in Moscow.
