Azamat Bostanov, now a fighter manager, shared detailed memories of attending UFC 223 in Brooklyn eight years ago when Khabib Nurmagomedov won the lightweight title against Al Iaquinta. Bostanov recounted arriving the day of the infamous Artem Lobov-Khabib confrontation and quickly interviewing Lobov. When manager Ali Abdelaziz told him to stay away from their team, Khabib intervened saying "This is our guy, he's just doing his job." Bostanov described 20-30 Dagestanis gathering at the hotel ready to protect Khabib from potential Conor McGregor team provocations. He recalled Zabит Magomedsharipov breaking two fingers before his fight but hiding the injury to avoid being pulled by the athletic commission. After the event, Khabib's hotel floor was packed with people, many of whom he didn't know, but he graciously took photos, including draping his championship belt over Bostanov's shoulder, and spoke with everyone via video calls despite being exhausted. Years later, Khabib randomly spotted Bostanov on the street in Moscow and offered him a ride, maintaining his characteristic kindness.
