Former UFC bantamweight champion Petr Yan has been awarded the Medal of the Order for Services to the Fatherland, Second Degree, by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The prestigious state honor recognizes Yan's contributions to the development of physical culture and sports in Russia. This is one of the highest civilian awards in the Russian Federation. Yan joins other prominent Russian athletes who have received this distinction for their achievements in sport.
