AJ McKee (24-2, #2 lightweight) will face Salamat Isbulaev (10-0, #6 lightweight) on June 27 in San Diego. Despite Isbulaev knocking out #3-ranked Jesus Pineda in his PFL debut, he was only ranked #6 afterwards. Now PFL is matching the undefeated prospect against former Bellator champion McKee, one of the organization's strongest fighters, without giving Isbulaev any warm-up fights. The post questions PFL's matchmaking strategy, noting that Isbulaev is being fast-tracked on a difficult path to the title with no gradual buildup.
