Vadim Nemkov disclosed that kidney problems in 2022 severely affected his cardio, causing him to gas out quickly in his first fight against Corey Anderson and during sparring sessions. He would feel fine in the first round but completely run out of energy by the second and third rounds. After consulting with doctors and undergoing tests in Thailand, they identified the kidney issue and found a legal, over-the-counter medication that resolved the problem. Nemkov also revealed he has completely eliminated all sports supplements including creatine, protein, and BCAAs from his regimen due to the strain they put on his kidneys, now only taking vitamins like omega-3, fish oil, magnesium, and vitamin B. He attributes his kidney issues to extreme weight cuts and says he hasn't noticed any performance decline since dropping supplements.
