Vadim Nemkov disclosed he suffered kidney problems in 2022 that severely impacted his cardio during his first fight with Corey Anderson. The former Bellator champion said he would gas out after one round in sparring sessions and felt like his gas tank was empty in the second round of the Anderson bout. Nemkov traced the kidney issues to large weight cuts throughout his career. After struggling through training camps, doctors in Thailand identified the problem and found a permitted pharmaceutical solution that restored his health. He has since eliminated all sports supplements including creatine, protein, and BCAAs from his regimen, though he continues taking vitamins like omega-3, fish oil, magnesium, and vitamin B. Nemkov says he doesn't feel worse without the supplements and emphasized the importance of proper nutrition and sleep.
