Quick read
Vadim Nemkov disclosed that he suffered from kidney problems in 2022 that caused severe conditioning issues during his first fight with Corey Anderson. He would fatigue after just one round in sparring, which carried over to the actual bout where he won the first round but had no energy in the second. After the fight, doctors in Thailand identified the kidney issue and found an allowed medication that resolved the problem. Nemkov has since eliminated all sports supplements from his regimen, including creatine, protein, and BCAAs, as they place additional strain on the kidneys. He now only takes vitamins like omega-3, fish oil, magnesium, and vitamin B, and reports feeling no worse without the supplements.
