Vadim Nemkov disclosed that kidney problems in 2022 caused severe cardio issues that affected his first bout with Corey Anderson and his training. During sparring sessions, Nemkov would perform well in the first round but rapidly fade in the second and third rounds, a pattern that carried into his fight. After consulting with his doctor and undergoing tests, medical professionals identified the kidney issue and found an appropriate pharmaceutical solution. Nemkov has since eliminated all sports supplements from his diet due to the strain they place on his kidneys. He now relies only on vitamins including omega-3, fish oil, magnesium, and vitamin B, having banned creatine, protein, and BCAAs from his regimen.
