Vadim Nemkov disclosed that kidney problems significantly impacted his performance in his first fight against Corey Anderson in 2022. He experienced severe fatigue after just one round in both sparring and competition, which he did not initially understand. After the loss to Anderson, medical testing revealed kidney issues related to extreme weight cuts. Nemkov found an approved pharmaceutical solution that resolved the problem. He has since eliminated all sports supplements from his regimen, including creatine, protein, and BCAAs, retaining only vitamins like omega-3, fish oil, magnesium, and B vitamins. Nemkov reports feeling no worse without the supplements and emphasizes proper nutrition and sleep instead.
