Vadim Nemkov disclosed that he had kidney problems in 2022 which severely impacted his cardio during the first Corey Anderson fight. He was only able to perform well for one round in sparring before completely running out of energy, which also happened in the actual fight. After traveling to Thailand for a training camp, he sought medical help and found an over-the-counter medication that resolved the issue. Nemkov has completely eliminated all sports supplements from his diet due to the kidney concerns, now only taking vitamins like omega-3, fish oil, magnesium, and B vitamins. He stated he doesn't feel worse without supplements like creatine, protein, and BCAAs as long as his nutrition, sleep, and vitamin intake are properly managed.
