Vadim Nemkov disclosed that he suffered from kidney problems in 2022 that severely impacted his performance. During training camp, he could only last one round in sparring before completely exhausting, a problem that carried into his first fight with Corey Anderson. Nemkov's medical team eventually identified the issue and found a legal pharmaceutical solution that resolved the problem. As a result, he has eliminated all sports supplements from his regimen, including creatine, protein, and BCAAs, to reduce kidney stress. He now only takes basic vitamins like omega-3, fish oil, magnesium, and vitamin B, and reports feeling no worse without the supplements.
