Vadim Nemkov disclosed that kidney problems in 2022 severely impacted his performance against Corey Anderson in their first fight. The Russian fighter experienced rapid fatigue, lasting only one round in sparring sessions leading up to the bout. During the actual fight with Anderson, Nemkov felt he ran out of gas after the first round despite understanding the technical aspects of the fight. After traveling to Thailand for a training camp before the rematch, he found a suitable pharmaceutical solution that resolved the issue. Nemkov has since eliminated all sports supplements from his diet due to the kidney concerns, now taking only vitamins including omega-3, fish oil, magnesium, and vitamin B.
