Vadim Nemkov has disclosed that kidney problems in 2022 severely impacted his performance, causing him to fatigue rapidly after just one round in sparring and in his first fight against Corey Anderson. He experienced complete energy depletion by the second round despite feeling normal during other training activities like running and weightlifting. After extensive medical consultations, doctors in Thailand identified the root cause and prescribed a standard, legal pharmaceutical medication that resolved the issue. Nemkov also revealed he has completely eliminated all sports supplements including creatine, protein, and BCAAs from his regimen due to the strain they place on his kidneys, now relying only on basic vitamins like omega-3, fish oil, magnesium, and B vitamins. He stated he hasn't noticed any performance decline since dropping supplements, emphasizing that proper nutrition, sleep, and vitamins are sufficient.
