Makhachev highlights construction problems in Dagestan amid flooding

He recently reposted content from geographer Dmitry Koryukhin, a school teacher in Dagestan who was named Teacher of the Year in 2025, which featured aerial photographs showing the urban development problems. The post describes new low-quality residential complexes built tightly together, widespread unauthorized construction, and the broader Russian trend of building massive 30-story apartment complexes with 1000 units each despite stagnant or declining urban populations. Makhachev praised Koryukhin for highlighting this "disaster" affecting the region.
