Azamat Bostanov, now a fighter manager, recounted his experiences covering Khabib Nurmagomedov's UFC 223 championship win in Brooklyn eight years ago. He described how Ali Abdelaziz initially told him to stay away from their team after Bostanov interviewed Artem Lobov following the famous bus incident, but Khabib overruled him, saying Bostanov was 'just doing his work.' Bostanov remembered 20-30 Dagestanis gathering at the hotel entrance to prevent any provocations from Conor McGregor's team. After the fight, despite being exhausted, Khabib took time to photograph with fans, let Bostanov wear his championship belt, and spoke with numerous people via video calls in his hotel room. Bostanov also revealed that Zabit broke two fingers during his warm-up but didn't tell the athletic commission so he could still compete. Years later, Khabib still recognized Bostanov on the street and offered him a ride.
