Vadim Nemkov disclosed that he suffered from kidney problems in 2022 that severely impacted his cardio during training and his first fight against Corey Anderson. Nemkov experienced dramatic fatigue after just one round in sparring sessions, feeling completely depleted by the second round. The same issue plagued him during the Anderson fight, where he won the first round but had no energy in the second despite understanding Anderson's techniques. After consulting with doctors and traveling to Thailand for a training camp, medical professionals identified the cause and found a legal pharmaceutical solution that resolved his health issues. Nemkov has since eliminated all sports supplements from his regimen, including creatine, protein, and BCAAs, as they place additional burden on the kidneys. He now only takes vitamins including omega-3, fish oil, magnesium, and vitamin B, and reports feeling no worse without the supplements.
