Islam Makhachev highlights Dagestan construction problems amid flooding

Seventeen days ago, during severe flooding in the region, Makhachev called on Dagestan leadership to address construction problems, stating that Makhachkala has become "one chaotic construction site." Today he reposted content from geographer and teacher Dmitry Koryukhin, who provided aerial photographs showing the urban planning disaster in the city. Makhachev's criticism focuses on poorly planned residential developments, with low-quality apartment complexes built extremely close together, as well as numerous unauthorized construction projects. The post notes this is a broader Russian problem, with massive residential construction continuing despite stagnant or declining populations in many major cities.
