Vadim Nemkov says Alexander Ovechkin more recognizable in US than Khabib

Bellator champion Vadim Nemkov believes NHL star Alexander Ovechkin is currently more recognizable in America than retired UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. In an interview, Nemkov explained that hockey is deeply ingrained in American youth sports culture, with many children playing from an early age and knowing who Ovechkin is. He noted that Ovechkin gained massive recognition after breaking Wayne Gretzky's record and continues to set records while staying in the news. In contrast, Nemkov believes Khabib is no longer as prominent in the news cycle since his retirement. While acknowledging both athletes would be recognized, Nemkov gave the edge to Ovechkin in terms of current American name recognition.
