Vadim Nemkov believes Alexander Ovechkin is currently more recognizable in America than Khabib Nurmagomedov. In an interview, Nemkov explained that hockey is deeply embedded in American youth culture with many children playing the sport and knowing Ovechkin, especially after he broke Wayne Gretzky's record. Nemkov noted that Ovechkin continues setting records and remains in the news constantly, while Khabib is no longer as prominent since retiring from active competition. The fighter suggested both are well-known, but Ovechkin's ongoing presence in a sport widely played by American children gives him the edge in current recognition.
