Former Bellator light heavyweight champion Vadim Nemkov believes that Alexander Ovechkin is currently more recognizable in America than Khabib Nurmagomedov. In an interview with Ushatayka, Nemkov explained that many American children play hockey from a young age and all know who Ovechkin is, similar to Russia. He noted that Ovechkin gained massive recognition when he broke Wayne Gretzky's record and continues to set records while remaining in the news cycle. By contrast, Nemkov suggests Khabib is no longer as prominent in the news and therefore less recognized now that he is retired from active competition.
