Russian boxer Sergey Gorokhov (16-11-2) knocked out previously undefeated Turkish boxer Emirhan Kalkan (7-0) in the second round in Trabzon, Turkey. After Gorokhov celebrated his victory, a civilian man connected to Kalkan entered the ring and confronted him. When Gorokhov's cornerman Ismail pushed the man away, a large mob stormed the ring and attacked Gorokhov and his team. Two cornermen required hospitalization for their injuries. Following treatment, Gorokhov and his team immediately drove to Georgia, removing their Russian license plates for safety. Gorokhov stated approximately 50 people were involved in the attack on him.
