Russian boxer Sergey Gorokhov and his team were attacked by a mob in the ring after he knocked out local fighter Emirhan Kalkan in the second round in Trabzon, Turkey. Gorokhov, who entered the fight with a 16-11-2 record, scored a knockdown in the first round before finishing Kalkan (7-0) in the second. After celebrating his victory, a man in civilian clothes who appeared connected to Kalkan yelled at Gorokhov, leading to a confrontation. When Gorokhov's cornerman pushed the man, a mob rushed the ring and attacked Gorokhov and his team. Two of Gorokhov's cornermen required hospitalization, and the team immediately fled to Georgia after leaving the hospital, removing their Russian license plates for safety. The incident highlights the dangers fighters can face in hostile environments abroad.
