Fight manager Azamat Bostanov shared memories of Khabib Nurmagomedov's UFC 223 championship victory in Brooklyn eight years ago. Bostanov recounted arriving during the Conor McGregor-Artem Lobov confrontation, interviewing Lobov, and initially being told by Ali Abdelaziz to stay away from Nurmagomedov's team. However, Khabib welcomed him warmly, saying "This is our guy, he's just doing his job." Bostanov described how 20-30 Dagestanis gathered at the hotel ready to protect Khabib from potential provocations from McGregor's team. He also revealed that Zabit Magomedsharipov fought with two broken fingers without telling anyone to avoid being pulled from the card. After the victory, despite exhaustion, Khabib took time to greet everyone, take photos, and speak with unfamiliar well-wishers via video calls. Years later, Khabib recognized and offered Bostanov a ride in Moscow, demonstrating his continued humility despite championship success.
