Kaliningrad boxer Sergey Gorokhov and his team were attacked by a mob in the ring following his second-round knockout victory over local fighter Emirhan Kalkan in Trabzon, Turkey. Gorokhov, who entered the fight with a 16-11-2 record, scored a knockdown in the first round before finishing Kalkan (7-0) in the second. After celebrating his win, Gorokhov was confronted by a man in civilian clothes connected to Kalkan, leading to a physical altercation when Gorokhov's cornerman Ismail pushed the man. A crowd then stormed the ring and attacked Gorokhov and his team. Two of Gorokhov's cornermen, including Ismail, were hospitalized. After receiving medical treatment, the three immediately left Trabzon by car for Georgia, removing their Russian license plates as a precaution, and arrived safely.
